Quiet the noise.
Notice the pattern.
Come home to yourself.
Therapy for racing thoughts, a body on high alert, and the persistent feeling that something negative is about to happen. Grounded in mindfulness-based, evidence-informed care, we help you build a calmer, more intentional relationship with anxious thoughts.
We meet you with presence and curiosity, walking alongside you as you build a calmer relationship with anxious thoughts.
Does any of this sound familiar?
Racing thoughts. A body that stays on high alert even when nothing is wrong. The sense that something negative is about to happen, even when you cannot name what. You do not need the right words for it here. You only need to be willing to look at it.
Do you have to make the anxiety disappear before you can feel okay?
No. Anxiety often thrives on automatic thinking. A worry appears, and before you realize it, you are lost in a chain of what if scenarios. Therapy is not about eliminating every anxious thought.
It is about learning to notice thoughts without judgment, recognize them as passing events, and create space before reacting. That space is where things start to change.
Awareness interrupts the cycle before it builds into overwhelming worry.
What can anxiety therapy help with?
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. This work is not about fitting your experience into a checklist, it is about understanding where anxiety shows up in your life and building a steadier relationship with it.

What is MBCT, and how does it help with anxiety? ⌄
Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) blends mindfulness practices with cognitive therapy techniques to help you notice unhelpful thought patterns and respond to them in a calmer, more intentional way, rather than getting swept into anxious spirals.
Is mindfulness effective for anxiety? ⌄
Research supports it. One study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association found adults with anxiety disorders had similar positive outcomes from an eight-week mindfulness program as they did from a common anxiety medication. Results vary by person, and it is worth discussing what fits your situation with a therapist.
Can mindfulness replace medication for anxiety? ⌄
Not necessarily, and that is not a decision to make alone. For some people, mindfulness-based therapy is enough on its own. For others, medication provides an important additional layer of support. This is worth discussing with both your therapist and your prescribing doctor.
When should I seek professional help instead of just practicing on my own? ⌄
If you notice persistent feelings of dread or panic, trouble sleeping, or physical symptoms like chest pain, it is a good time to reach out for professional support rather than managing it alone.
What happens in my first session? ⌄
Your first session focuses on getting to know each other, not immediate advice. Expect questions about what brought you in, your history, and what you are hoping for, with space to ask questions of your own.
What if I don't feel a connection with my therapist? ⌄
It is more common than people expect, and it does not mean something is wrong with you. If a therapist does not feel like the right fit, say so. We will help you find someone on our team who does.
Do you take insurance? ⌄
Yes. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna, and Aetna.
How much does a session cost? ⌄
Initial intake sessions range from $160 to $200 for 55 minutes. Regular sessions are $150 for 55 minutes. We also offer sliding scale options for clients who qualify, reach out to our intake team to find a pricing option that fits your needs.
How long does anxiety therapy typically take? ⌄
It depends on what you are working through. Some clients benefit from a few sessions, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth. There is no fixed timeline.
Is virtual anxiety therapy as effective as in-person? ⌄
Yes. Sessions are held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and virtual therapy is available anywhere in Illinois, not just Andersonville.
