Slow down.
Rebuild safety.
Come home to yourself.
Therapy for the weight of what you have been through, hypervigilance, difficulty trusting, and feeling unsafe even when nothing is wrong right now. Grounded in mindfulness-based, evidence-informed care, we help you rediscover steadiness at a pace that feels safe.
We meet you with presence and curiosity, walking alongside you as you rebuild a felt sense of safety.
Does any of this sound familiar?
A body that stays braced for something to go wrong. Trouble trusting, even when you want to. Moments that pull you out of the present without warning. You do not need the right words for it here. You only need to be willing to look at it, at whatever pace feels safe.
Do you have to talk about everything before you're ready?
No. Trauma therapy does not require you to relive every detail before healing can begin. It moves at a pace that feels safe for you, building steadiness first, so the harder work is something you approach with more ground under your feet.
You do not need to have the whole story ready to tell. You only need to be willing to start, wherever that starting point is for you.
Healing happens at the pace of safety, not the pace of urgency.
What can trauma therapy help with?
Trauma shows up differently for everyone, sometimes as a memory, sometimes as a feeling in the body with no clear story attached. This work meets you wherever you are, at a pace that feels safe.

Ken JonesStill have questions?
Do I have to talk about everything right away? ⌄
No. The pace of this work is collaborative. Building safety and steadiness comes first, and how much detail you share, and when, is something you decide together with your therapist.
What if I don't remember all the details of what happened? ⌄
You do not need a complete or detailed memory for trauma therapy to help. The nervous system holds onto trauma even when the story around it is unclear, and therapy can work with that directly.
Is trauma therapy only for major, life-threatening events? ⌄
No. Trauma can come from a single event or from prolonged, difficult experiences over time. If something has left a lasting impact on how safe or steady you feel, it is worth exploring, regardless of how it compares to anyone else's experience.
Can trauma therapy help even if it happened a long time ago? ⌄
Yes. There is no expiration date on trauma therapy. Whether something happened recently or decades ago, it is still worth addressing if it continues to affect you today.
What if I'm having thoughts of self-harm or suicide? ⌄
If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, please reach out right away. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), free and available 24/7. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our team is here to support your ongoing care once you are safe.
What happens in my first session? ⌄
Your first session focuses on getting to know each other, not immediate advice. Expect questions about what brought you in, your history, and what you are hoping for, with space to ask questions of your own.
What if I don't feel a connection with my therapist? ⌄
It is more common than people expect, and it does not mean something is wrong with you. If a therapist does not feel like the right fit, say so. We will help you find someone on our team who does.
Do you take insurance? ⌄
Yes. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna, and Aetna.
How much does a session cost? ⌄
Initial intake sessions range from $160 to $200 for 55 minutes. Regular sessions are $150 for 55 minutes. We also offer sliding scale options for clients who qualify, reach out to our intake team to find a pricing option that fits your needs.
How long does trauma therapy typically take? ⌄
It depends on what you are working through. Some clients benefit from a few sessions, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth. There is no fixed timeline.
Is virtual trauma therapy as effective as in-person? ⌄
Yes. Sessions are held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and virtual therapy is available anywhere in Illinois, not just Andersonville.
