Slow down.
Find your footing.
Come home to yourself.
Therapy for persistent low mood, loss of interest, and the heaviness that makes ordinary things feel hard. Grounded in mindfulness-based, evidence-informed care, we help you build the awareness that makes real change possible.
We meet you with presence and curiosity, walking alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.
Does any of this sound familiar?
A heaviness that doesn't have a clear cause. Losing interest in things that used to matter. Getting through the day, but not really feeling present in it. You do not need the right words for it here. You only need to be willing to look at it.
Do you have to feel motivated before you can start feeling better?
No. Depression often makes the very things that could help feel impossible to start, showing up, reaching out, doing the ordinary things. Therapy does not require you to arrive with energy or motivation already restored.
It meets you where you actually are, even if that is exhausted, numb, or unsure where to begin. That is still a place to start from.
You do not have to feel ready. You only have to be willing to take the first small step.
What can depression therapy help with?
Depression shows up differently for everyone. This work is not about forcing positivity, it is about understanding where the weight shows up in your life and finding your way back to yourself.

How do I know if what I'm feeling is depression? ⌄
There is no single sign, but persistent low mood, losing interest in things you used to enjoy, and low energy that lasts more than a couple of weeks are common threads. A therapist can help you make sense of what you are experiencing, you do not need to diagnose yourself first.
What if I'm having thoughts of self-harm or suicide? ⌄
If you are in crisis or having thoughts of harming yourself, please reach out right away. Call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), free and available 24/7. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Our team is here to support your ongoing care once you are safe.
Can therapy help even if I don't know what's causing my depression? ⌄
Yes. You do not need to know the cause for therapy to help. Much of the work is about noticing patterns and building tools together, not identifying a single root cause first.
Is medication necessary for depression? ⌄
Not necessarily, and that is not a decision to make alone. For some people, therapy alone is enough. For others, medication offers valuable additional support. This is worth discussing with both your therapist and a prescribing doctor.
What happens in my first session? ⌄
Your first session focuses on getting to know each other, not immediate advice. Expect questions about what brought you in, your history, and what you are hoping for, with space to ask questions of your own.
What if I don't feel a connection with my therapist? ⌄
It is more common than people expect, and it does not mean something is wrong with you. If a therapist does not feel like the right fit, say so. We will help you find someone on our team who does.
Do you take insurance? ⌄
Yes. We currently accept Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Cigna, and Aetna.
How much does a session cost? ⌄
Initial intake sessions range from $160 to $200 for 55 minutes. Regular sessions are $150 for 55 minutes. We also offer sliding scale options for clients who qualify, reach out to our intake team to find a pricing option that fits your needs.
How long does depression therapy typically take? ⌄
It depends on what you are working through. Some clients benefit from a few sessions, while others engage in longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth. There is no fixed timeline.
Is virtual depression therapy as effective as in-person? ⌄
Yes. Sessions are held on a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform, and virtual therapy is available anywhere in Illinois, not just Andersonville.
